Seriously?

Luke is 16 months old...for real! That just took me by surprise yesterday. He is such an absolute joy and he seems to be growing and learning and changing so quickly. Steve says EXPONENTIALLY which is the best way to describe how he picks stuff up these days...quickly and lots of new ideas/wants/tricks all in the matter of a day.

One thing that is definitely true is that he is a MOVER. He will sit on my lap for a few minutes with a book and then realize that he is sitting and get up to get a different toy. I just enjoy asking him to bring me a book, having him climb on my lap and resting on me for a few short moments before he is off doing something else.

Gma Susan and Gpa Paul came to C'dale last night for dinner and afterwards stopped by to take Luke home with them. Steve and I had a mini-date and enjoyed an evening together and Luke had a fun time in Gma's bathtub and reading Green Eggs and Ham with her.

This morning, though, he took a big spill and had to come home early. He got a big bump/cut on his head so Steve and I took him to the doc and he got some butterfly bandages (let's hope they last 24 hours) and lots of loving from mom and dad. The PA said that it might leave a little scar, but I am going to hope it doesn't!

This was an example of how parents can't always be there and stuff just happens. His four grandparents love him more than anything and he is going to be a-ok. He may have planned it even so that his gmas have an extra reason to pile the love on him. We are thankful he is okay and that he is healthy and happy.

He and I had a great morning of playing, practicing with crayons (he liked throwing them around more than drawing) reading some books, walking the dogs and even visiting for a little bit with one of our neighbors and her 4 month old, Hannah. I took him for a ride at nap time so that he wouldn't do his usual roll around (and lose the bandages) before falling asleep in his crip and he is napping peacefully.

Poor guy, glad he is ok. Lucas has a constant boo boo on his forehead, it seems to always have some bruise or cut..they are always on the move, sometimes to fast for there own little feet.
