Whole new phase

Luke and I were working together doing the question of the day. He told me that he could write "D" and he did. He then said help me write some more letters. I talked him through how to "mom" and he did. I am sending a picture of his work. I am not sure how clear it is but I will tag his work in his journal if you want to look at it at pick up.

Great heights

 'Mommy, are you nervous yet?"

 I did manage to attract him to the actual play equipment :) and then we went on a beautiful drive and Luke used my map ap to steer us home. Really!

building crew

Lowe's sells these great sets for building different things. We assembled a 'locker' tonight and it is now full of great treasures. Luke is really over having his photo taken! ha

Unique

Because there might only be one time in a boy's life where he gets to pee next to (on?) an excavator, tell his mommy, while walking through the woods, that he has had enough of her camera, lug logs in stunning sunlight to the lakeshore for the dogs to chase, sing 'goin' on a bear hunt' while hiding behind a tree and give your new dog a kiss because she found a way to get stung by a bee (or two?) all in about an hour's visit to the beautiful and ever-special Little Grassy Lake. Unique, indeed! Oh, yeah, and he 'found' a treasure pile of bottle caps, too, 'just what I was looking for, mommy!' Whew...we packed a lot into that hour!

Quick trip north

 Two favorite moments of our trip to Chicago for a nice baby shower. Luke is awesome, we loved getting to visit with Aunt Ellen and Uncle Mike and we 'won' a lighter...what could be better!

Grandpa time

"We had lots of fun!" and "We only caught seaweed because the fish were sleeping!"

Date night

It always makes a date more fun to run into classmates and get to sit by and watch a train go zipping up the tracks!

Don't rain on my parade

or inside my mommy's car! This is one kid that does not tolerate his head getting wet unless absolutely necessary (like in the bath with me threatening his chocolate milk supply if he doesn't get his hair washed!)

We worked together, we took some breaks, we made some art, we battled with a hair dryer and toothbrush, we loved this project! I have them in my office now and get comments daily (even a detective in my office wanted to talk about how to do this project!) about this very cool art project!
