Mr. Fix-It

Luke thought a couple of weeks ago that I needed a purple watch. Steve got online and this is the watch that Luke picked out. It is so awesomely purple and shiny and a little bit ridiculous, but I wear it with a big smile on my face regularly now! The other day, Luke made a grab for it and fell down immediately after onto the tile floor, cracking the face. We have had many discussions lately about his toys vs. mommy and daddy's 'stuff' being for play and I immediately saw that he was sad that the watch had a crack. So he told me he needed some ribbon from the valentine that he made me and that he was going to fix it so that I was happy.
Fixed...and yes, I wore it like this for a full day until the 'bandage' came off :)

My love

Valentine's Day was last week, but this amazing guy is my love every day. I am the lucky one. Or lucky duck, as Luke would say ;)

Who doesn't love a soft pretzel?

Luke pointed a make at home soft pretzel kit out to Steve on Superbowl Sunday and it was the best grocery purchase they could have made! Just not sure I can remember which pretzel Luke made. I had to stay out of the kitchen while they worked on this surprise - it was fun to hear their commentary as they worked and even better to snack on the finished product!

My socks, mommy!

I call these photos my smilin-sick-snugglebug
After a trip to St. Louis yesterday, Luke passed out in the car while Steve and I picked up Chiplotle (YUM!) I ate in the car and Luke woke in time to stop by to say hello to my parents. He looked a little worn out and 'off' when he woke up but his eyes lit up at a chance to see my folks.
So we stopped. And Luke would not leave my arms -which was fine by me :) - and as soon as my mom offered him a strawberry, he threw up all over me. Which, really, was still fine by me. Poor guy. He has never thrown up before (really) and looked like he was completely confused about what the heck was going on, so I tried to turn it into a little lesson, saying puke and different words and telling him it was perfectly okay to spit on mommy if he had more yuck to get out.

Then we went to get cleaned up, and in his sweet little dazed voice, he says, 'Mommy, my socks!' telling me that he just couldn't handle another second with puke on his socks.

We got a little sleep last night, he still has a fever, but is keeping down some chocolate milk ;), popsicles and enjoying lots of cuddle time, stories and cartoons. My mom sent a small can of Coke home with us last night to settle his stomach and when he tried it today, he smacked his lips and said "SO YUMMY"

The last time I asked him if he was feeling okay, he said 'YES' (with very clear enunciation as he does these days 'yessssss' and then said, ' I only want to do that two times...I will only throw up tantrum two times'

Hope so buddy, but until we know for sure, we will just keep cuddling, keep the wash machine going and keep learning about these new characters...The Transformers. Love you, baby.

Birthday Muffins

We have a real helper in the kitchen

and as long as he is in pre-K
or until the fun of the name wears off
 these creations will be called
 Birthday Muffins at our house
 just like they call them
 at school on special days
 when the students celebrate
 their BIRTHDAYS!
We are in birthday muffin countdown here - even if these photos are
a month old. I love my kitchen helper!

Scooby Dooby Doo

Luke took these photos of his absolute favorite cartoon character on New Year's Eve. I am just getting to uploading photos that have accumulated on our real camera b/c I use so many photos from my phone so...it is fitting that at Friday's basketball game, the moments of silence before the National Anthem suddenly the crowd heard a heartfelt, "Scooby Dooby Doo" yell from a certain boy in the stands. Good times. The last pic is of us post-adventure with our little photog in the back :)
