New blog address

Hey, my fellow one or two readers, Google has informed me that I have maxed out my photo limit that is free with a new blog. So...It took me about 4 1/2 years to blog aver 5,000 photos, but now I have moved to a new version here: http://selsalife.blogspot.com/ where you can continue to see how Luke is growing, learning and loving life. Thanks for reading!

Spontaneous fun

Saturday morning, this happy boy spent time running errands with daddy and earning a red stripe on his belt at Tae Kwon Do. After lunch, he and I headed out for a birthday party only to realize that I had the DAY wrong so we headed to Castle Park to find some fun. The park had an ice cream vendor, Luke was interested in a treat, I had NO cash, so we played, imagined, explored, etc...and headed to an alternative ice cream spot at the Lodge for sundaes. He sat across from me 'so we can talk to each other' and we had a lovely time talking, laughing, drawing while eating sundaes on a Saturday.

At one point, I whispered to Luke, "I love you" and he whispered back, 'I already know that, mommy'.

PS - the birthday party was fun on SUNDAY!

Today marks the first day that Luke shared many details of his day with me on the way home from school. It made me ridiculously happy to hear unprompted what he had to eat, 'breadsticks, oranges, beef stroganoff and cereal for breafkast' in his version of the order, what he played 'laser game with Avery and the pretend food' and other misc...tidbits of his day. Ridiculously happy.

While you wait

Might as well solve the Sudoku! Then sit like a champ for a great haircut and charm the stylist out of THREE suckers. Who's the sucker now? Love him.

Sick day

Realtor caravan in the middle of the week forced me to take a day away from work to keep these dogs out of the house. It is obvious that taking care of this task was a big bummer. Thank you, Lake Kinkaid for recharging my batteries with beauty, nature and time with our canine kids.

Hideaway

Nothing like hanging out in a fort (that has been taped in places for security sake by a 4 year old) to liven up a Sunday.

FIRE!

We had a fire by the light of headlights and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I love my family and am so thankful that they put up with me. Really.

The Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time on a pre-K outing at the Pumpkin Patch today! We, not only saw lots of friends from Luke's school, we ran into other friends and enjoyed all of the fun activities. I will laugh out loud for a while picturing Luke flying down the slide by himself one time. It was really fast so the other trips he took on one of our laps!

Another neat moment was when a tractor ride full of friends were taking a ride through the field, and a younger classmate noticed the 'red truck'. His mom told him it was a 'red tractor' and Luke told her that it was 'Actually, a red COMBINE' Vocabulary power!

Fall fun!

A reason to party, a reason to snuggle

Why not make a cake and decide today is Arcee's birthday?
Yum...we did the birthday song, lit a candle, the whole bit. Arcee didn't know what was going on ;)

And...when daddy is out of town, we get to spend extra time snuggling. Love that!
