I am sitting here writing this as Luke spits out the cereal that his dad is trying to feed him so that his best friend Star can lick it off of his face and outfit. I think they are both happier than they have been all day doing this little show!
I have been able to master walking the dogs with Luke in the frontpack which is a great step towards more independence for all of us. No more sad looks all day from Luna and Star as they wonder what the heck I am doing home if they aren't getting a walk :) Luke seems to really like it. I think that he really likes watching the dogs and everything around him as we tour the neighborhood.
He is experiencing new things everyday now...he has enjoyed his first peas, squash and green beans so far. He gets a little every day at lunch and then his normal cereal with applesauce in the evening. He is okay with everything so far. Seems to enjoy the new tastes and no allergies or anything...
Today is the last hot hot day that I think we will have. Next week is supposed to cool down dramatically so we spent some time on the deck today - you can see Luke's excitement. Actually, he can sit out there for a long time and not get bored. Between hearing one of us describe what is going on around him and just looking around for himself he is happy on the deck. We gave the dogs each a bone today and Luna thought that they were both for her...of course!
