Superfan & dance class & treats

Luke and Addie...

Superfans

Super face-makers

Super popcorn eaters

Super big kids!

Super cuties :) This was a game at the Arena that Heidi and I will probably never forget. My favorite quote from her was "It is a good thing we are winning. If we weren't we would have to reign these two in a little more" Yeah for a victory!

I can't forget - Super dancers :) Luke started dance class a couple of weeks ago. You can see he is a man among women, but he really likes it and the teacher told me he is a quick learner and a good listener so besides having some fun, he is getting some good gross motor practice and developing some agility/movement skills.

My dad left some snacks on my desk this morning. It was a wonderful treat. This Roka spread has become my latest obsession paired with honeycrisp apples. So delicious! Thanks, Dad!

And thanks even more for the fun note. Happy Festivus, indeed. There was snow on the ground this morning so I guess the holiday/winter season is really here. My dad has always had an amazing way of making me feel loved. Luke will love the fruit snacks that he delivered as well for his buddy boy.

Flower Bed

Got some new bedding as a Black Friday deal that we really like. I put it on the bed when I got home from shopping. Luke woke up from his nap and looked at it with his eyebrows up and a smile so I guess he likes it. The next morning after he had gone potty & gotten his chocolate milk out of the fridge (by himself!), he ran in to snuggle up with me and said "We have a flower bed, Mommy"

Yes, we do. I love it and think of that with a smile daily now.

A little list

of things I am thankful for on this Thanksgiving day. I am starting with my workspace. Luke is very handy with gadgets and electronic devices (he called my mom yesterday from my locked iPhone without us knowing about it) so I have my computer hidden away in our closet and I literally hide in here to do a post now and then or buy new music for our ipod. I really like the 'hidden alone time' so I am thankful for that!
Uh...this man. He makes everything about life better. Love, Love, Love him and so thankful for July 2005.

This guy is certainly a reason to smile and give thanks each day. I love his brain, I love how hard he works and concentrates on projects and 'activities'. I love how he wrapped his George doll in a blanket and then plugged in my phone charger and attached the charger to the blanket so that George could enjoy an 'electric blanket'. I love that he loves his mom and dad. I love that he behaves at restaurants. I love that he makes me think outside the box. I love his vocabulary (even when he calls me 'bogus'). I love how much he learns every day. I love his memory. I love watching him go to dance class and jump right into the action with confidence. I love to watch him.

See that focus? We were at the high school playing on the football equipment last weekend. When we left, I scooped him and asked me to 'cover us' while we got to the car. So, he used his make believe weapons and went 'boom, boom, boom' at the bad guys all the way to the car. Luckily, we made it safely.

This dog is a joy. Thankful for our Star :)

Thankful for our parents doesn't quite cover how lucky we feel to be near and in such great relationships with our parents. They are all amazing parents, super-amazing grandparents and wonderful people.

This series of pictures is from May. Not only does it show all sides of our family fun, I can feel the happiness coming from them. (Maybe not from Luke, but he is surrounded by the joy)

Happy Holiday Season. We are counting our blessings every day.

Luke is thankful these days for:

chocolate milk, legos, Lightning McQueen, any chance to battle the lemons (or bad guys), reading stories, scooby doo cartoons, his school and his friends there, snuggle time with mommy and daddy in our big bed, things he can put together, using tape and scissors for activities, climbing, pouring water, not getting his hair washed, playing in mommy or daddy's office any chance he gets!

WOW

What an AMAZING weekend!
Luke and Leah post wedding - He was an all-star ring bearer...smiled down the 80 foot aisle and did a Lightning McQueen twist as he turned to sit by me at the end :)

Luke LOVES his cousin Violet. He wanted to hold her, gave her sweet kisses and asked about her whenever she wasn't around this weekend. She was a total champ through all of the events and just looked around wondering what all of the kung-fu fighting was about ;)

I love how happy Luke and Shannon are here...We enjoyed every minute of family time this weekend and feel really lucky to have such awesome people in our lives!

More posting to come but I am at work and our network administrator is likely to come yell at me any minute...

High Roller

I mean really...How much do I love this kid? Sunglasses, check. Scarf, check. Collared pj's, check. Little Golden Book, check. We are ready to roll out on a Sunday morning for a paper and a coffee.

Date Night

With this little dude! When I picked Luke up yesterday, we decided to take advantage of a beautiful NOVEMBER day and head to the park. It was crowded in a good way and after being there a bit, I noticed one of Luke's friends from school, Keira, arriving. I told Luke she was there and he froze with excitement. When he turned around, he froze again with delight. As Keira noticed Luke, she yelled his name, threw her arms out around her and ran in his direction. I watched Luke's smile grow, told him he could go to her and he instantly un-froze, threw his arms out and ran to her. They embraced as if they hadn't seen each other in days, weeks, months, even, instead of just an hour before at school. It was a moment.

The next hour consisted of Luke trying to keep up with all of Keira's chosen park activities. He loved every minute of it and I am pretty sure she did, too.

After the park, we went to a favorite pizza place and enjoyed a long, lazy dinner together. He was so good. We sat together at a booth for over an hour enjoying salad (only me, because veggies are 'yucky')pizza, cheese bread and a little ice cream. My favorite moment of the night was when I asked him if he wanted to tell me anything about his day. Luke looked at me, thought for a moment and then said "Not yet, mommy. I am trying to eat this pizza" Priorities.

The photo above is of Luke eating a gummy hamburger candy. I hope that my Aunt Ellen sees this because he thought it was the funniest thing, and I remember her introducing me to these silly candies years ago. I know she would be proud of his candy selection from the Halloween loot last night.

Buddies

Heather was in town this weekend and we got to have brunch with her yesterday! It was a treat to see her, and Luke was thrilled to eat pancakes with her and show her his new toys :)

Do I even need to write anything here? These two are hilarious....Luke told me yesterday that everyone should have a dog. I agree :)
