July so far

Starting before Luke aged himself about 8 years and got a big boy haircut, we love our yard! Sticks to play with, flowers in bloom, and a practice green :)

Luke was trying to 'hook' Star since every stick that he finds is a fishing pole.

He will do whatever Daddy is doing and for a while he has been interested in 'racing' all over the cart paths pretending to be a car named "Chick Hicks" Chick is what I call a dirty bird, and he will bump other cars, cheat etc...to win so we are getting bumped a lot followed by blissed out giggles!

Both grandmas have helped Luke really like to learn about flowers and plants. I have hopefully helped him love just being outside, although these days he is quick to boss me to 'roll up your window and turn on the air conditioning!' He does love to help water flowers, talk to them and enjoy seeing them share their beauty. I love these built in flower boxes on the deck. They are simple, but also really bring a lot of pretty to the view.

I do like a good close-up!

These flowers mostly came from the high school environmental club. They start them in our greenhouse and make enough money from the sales to keep the greenhouse full or wonderful plants and flowers and veggies!

Last week was great because I kept Luke home all week. This meant lots of playing and just hanging out while we also met some workers that will hopefully be completing our frontyard courtyard in the next couple of weeks! Luke was very interested in the planning of that and seemed to process the plans and agree :) I am looking forward to having some other seating outdoors and a fenced area to keep Star and Luke reigned in...We also went to swim lessons, spent time with Grandpa Nick and Grandma Susan and got a snow cone with Daddy!

Friday was a beach day...you can see that we had a tiny bit of fun. Thanks to my wonderful friend Connie for these great pictures! Luke really doesn't nap anymore so after the beach, even though he told me he was tired and 'worned out' we chilled at home for a bit, had a snack and then headed to Luke's first movie. He loved it, loved having Ruthie and Molly along and loved eating a ton of popcorn!

Playing keep away with Evan (who really just wanted the ball)

Molly, Luke and Ruthie. He LOVES these girls (and so do I!)

Second ice cream break of the day. He used to like getting Doritoes there, but now he knows about ice cream sandwiches....yum!

Love!

After the movie on Friday, we spent a little time at a winery near our house and ate pizza. Luke played with his cars and then discovered a small beach area and we ended up carrying him to the car naked b/c he ended up sandy and wet. It is a very relaxed and family friendly winery!

A huge rock Mommy! Watch for the splash...notice the shoes are already off.

Saturday we were fortunate to see Uncle Greg and Aunt Rebekah at Susan and Paul's house. Luke got to flirt with Rebekah, and play a little golf with Daddy and Greg on Sunday AND go swimming with them while I got a wonderful nap on Sunday afternoon! He loves learning about Steve's siblings and figuring out what brother, sister, mom, and dad mean..

We had a really relaxing 4th of July. Got to exercise, play outside, play inside, GO GOLFING and even saw a couple of fireworks from our house. The golf pictures pretty much speak for themselves :) LOVE THEM! Love how hard Luke works on each shot, love his quotes "Got some air under it" love his focus, love how how and sweaty and dirty he was by #9 but HAPPY!

He likes to hit every shot, even on the green, with his driver. Something against his putter right now!??!

And, he would like his OWN golf cart that he can drive petal to the metal all by himself. Really, he steps on Steve's foot while we ride to make sure we go FAST!

Who needs a club when you can kick the ball in the hole?

Teeing off on #3. He will call out the numbers on the hole marker signs and knows a lot of the course route already :)

What a duo! I am so in love with these two :)

#6 tee - one of the prettiest spots at the course.

Found a spot to 'make some steam'

Then found a moment to turn the golf cart into a 'ladder'...I am climbing to the top, Mommy. Okay, Luke, I will be here taking pictures of your project!

I am focused!

but, luckily, still has time for a kiss from Mommy!

Sunset - Luke on my lap snuggled up smelling like a worn out little boy, saying "bye bye sun", breeze from the ride, sitting by my husband, summer, bliss

Steve liked this action shot...

Thank you, summer, for treating us so well. Looking forward to what else July has in store!
