After grocery shopping on Tuesday, Luke needed to 'take a little rest under his favorite tree' in the Kroger landscaping.

Seth
Seth is a graduate of CCHS, worked for a bit at Luke's school, and is preparing to take on an Americorps posting in Minnesota. He is an A+ guy, and Luke loves him. If Seth was ever at school when I would take Luke or pick him up, Luke would immediately start laughing and saying "SETH'S HERE!" So...the couple of times that he has come to the house to watch Luke, it is a total celebration of Seth. Luke has to remind himself to whine a little when we leave because really he is overjoyed to have Seth at the house. Last Saturday, they practiced chipping balls onto the green until it got dark, ate pizza, watched cars, raced cars and greeted us with big smiles at 11:00 when we got home! Luke had had a late nap so it was pretty fun to come home to a happy night owl.

Nice photos and some birds
We had a really nice time on Saturday celebrating the Hands of Hope clinic in Herrin. Susan was having a total blast with friends and family, Paul enjoyed singing along to the fun music and Steve and I enjoyed the atmosphere and being on a dressed up date!

I love my mommy!
Mommy may be a little behind in her posts...but not as far behind as Luke and Daddy, who have been wanting to do a post about how much we love mommy! Mommy is away at a yard sale this morning, so I asked Luke for some thoughts about Mommy:she loves her little boy Luke...and mommy loves dogs
mommy is always there when your tummy hurts and you need to be held on the potty She's why Luke and daddy go outside and climb rocks and pick flowers...
Chocolate milk tastes better when mommy pours it...
Hey - take a picture of this bag daddy!
We love you mommy! You make our lives so special and hopefully we can sneak more posts in once we learn how to blog better! I guess it's fun having random fire truck pictures though!

Summer days
By the time I get to this at night, my brain is tired and so is my body. But...that is a wonderful thing. We are enjoying full days of fun, Luke is a happy boy, his vocabulary is growing, not to mention, his body, by the minute, and we are savoring summer. Here is some photographic proof. Mom, you should love this abundance of pictures. That is, if you don't have a headache from all of the balloon bonking you (and dad)tolerated tonight! xoxo
These pictures have been taken over the past couple of weeks and include a great visit from Uncle Glenn/Ziggy, Our waiter at Pag's drew this for Luke after asking his favorite cartoon character. Priceless. We had him autograph it.
running through our sprinkler,
celebrating Steve's last day as principal. The whole school staff wore these shirts on his last day. There is an inside joke to it that makes it really special. I am too spent on typing to write the story out. The highlight for us is that Luke spent the whole day at school with me and got to go to Steve's lunch party and enjoy being at the HS all day :)
Painting masterpieces...
Reuniting with babysitter of the century, Heather!
watching his first full length movie - Cars! He went crazy for the movie. He was totally into it, had to get his toys that 'matched' what he saw on the screen and was just so thrilled to see his toys 'live'...it is a cute movie but I had more fun watching Luke! Plus, we made popcorn and had good snacks...bonus
Relaxing on whatever is nearby (even mommy's hip!)
Steve gives me complete free reign to decorate, take care of house decisions and stuff, but he once said that he would like to live close to a golf course if/when we moved. Here are some shots of him taken from our deck. I am so happy that he gets out to play a few times a week. Luke loves to play #3 with him and generally comes off of the cart saying he 'got a par'
Here's hoping I can do better about posting more often. This took me about an hour and I need to go to bed! Aaaahhhh...summer. I am going to go blow Luna a kiss as she is full and lovely in the sky tonight.

Grandma Susan
Luke woke up today saying "It's Grandma Susan's Birthday!" He had even picked out some special balloons for the occasion. Grandma's favorite kind of balloon, Lightning McQueen.
I have been very delayed in staying caught up with our summer fun. Tonight, though, we had a wonderful birthday party at our house for Grandma Susan. It was really a low key affair, but the weather was perfect, the company was joyful, and good times were had by all. Happy Birthday, Susan! We love you!
