We are celebrating Steve's birthday today in a few ways! It is Friday, hopefully we continue to have a break in the rainy weather, we are closing on our new house and moving there/sleeping there tonight and we will probably find some room for cake in there at some point! Here are a few recent pictures of Steve and his #1 fan (and a couple of other big fans) at the Cardinals game last weekend. You make the world a better -and better looking :) - place, Stephen T. Lots of people love you. Luke & I are the lucky ones!
PS I just tearily sang "You are my sunshine" to my lovebug, Luke. Steve is finishing bedtime as it should be as he has done hundreds of those in this house. We feel really really fortunate to be heading into a new adventure together.

Checking In
Whew...Luke was sick two weeks ago, we are packing to move Friday, and this is Steve's Birthday week! Woo Hoo...Here are some pics of sick days, including a firetruck coming to flush the hydrant across the street!, story time, snack times and a few other misc. moments. Luke is just a ton of fun! We have had so much rain and wild weather here in the last week that when he hears thunder now he will nonchalantly say "It's just nature, mommy" Got it, bud, thanks for calming me down :) Some of the random photos are ones that Luke took on a walk.
Luke woke up today saying "it is Friday!" He is excited to live on a golf course :) Also, he was happy to fill a box with toys last night to make sure that his toys make it to the new place! I woke up with aches in my back from wrestling for space in "mommy's bed" since we all slept together during ANOTHER storm last night. I love the aches, though. I love sleeping with Luke hogging the bed in between me and Steve and I really love that no matter how often he lays down with Daddy, our bed is known as "mommy's bed". I could do with a few less kicks to the head at 2:00 am, but you can't have everything...Signing off and looking for some sunshine. Hopefully, 'it' will walk in my office after checking out this post and I can wish 'it' a happy birthday week. Steve does make each day brighter xoxoxoxoxo

Helping hand
I am very behind in posting these since I made them over Spring Break for a special treat for Steve, but wanted to definitely document that Luke in March of 2011, rolled three of his own gnocchis to add to my batch of about 200...It was a nice moment, and I especially like hearing him say the word "gnocchi" and then, of course, seeing him enjoy eating a few with the delicious gorgonzola sauce that just writing about makes me want to cook for dinner tonight :)

Good for you
Brownies made with spinach puree...
Mac and cheese made with butternut squash puree...
We are always trying to balance our nutrition and these have been a couple of successful adventures.
I should balance this post with the fact that last weekend I was savoring a Oreo Blizzard with malt added when Luke woke up from his nap, silently approached me on the couch and proceeded to eat more than I did. It is definitely safe to say that Luke is the only person on Earth that I will willingly share food (especially dessert) with. He was very kind to take a few bites and then allow me one, then take 2 or 3 more, repeat.
